About Gen Korean BBQ House

Local chain offering Korean BBQ grilled tableside & ban-chan in a trendy, modern setting.

Gen Korean BBQ House is a korean bbq in Cary, North Carolina. It is listed at 232 Crossroads Blvd Unit 24, Cary, NC 27518, which places it among the local businesses of Cary that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

I came here alone since I am here for a work trip. The server earlier today was super awesome! She was the only server tending 4 to 5 tables. She was super nice and helpful. The place seems pretty fancy and a but dim. I wanted to try the alcoholic drinks but didn't since I had to drive alone. I am definitely coming back here if I was back in town.

We've been here when it opened a while back and it was a fine experience. Between then and now there has been major cutbacks in food quality. They have removed several Korean staples off the menu (like Galbi) and the meat quality is pretty terrible. The apps were inedible including a very glue like mush that was supposed to be fried rice and fried chicken that looked like the last bits if breading at the bottom of a bag of frozen tenders. Nothing tasted fresh and they were even out of Kimchi which is kinda crazy for a legitimate Korean BBQ place. It feels like they are in trouble and the cost cutting has made their food terrible. Save your money and go to another Korean BBQ place (there are three in Crossroads) we will not be back.

Wanted to come here for a while. I was not super impressed. Japche was very disappointing. Meats were good, no lettuce wraps only radish paper wraps. Sekou was an outstanding waiter. I doubt I’ll be back, there are much better Korean spots in the area now. The space is more beautiful than delicious if that makes sense. Pancakes were not cooked through all the way. We asked to show the manager but he never came to the table.

I look forward to their Grand Opening next Saturday March 29. Today was the first day of their soft opening, and we definitely will return next weekend for another go. (Drinks are not available just yet) For about $32 (starting) ayce is not bad, add $20 and you can enjoy ayce Wagyu and other premium items. (There is a QR code on the table to scan and view the menu on your device) Service was great, everyone was helping where they saw they could help. There was an amazing consistency for being open for the first time and just a few hours. The only thing I was not a fan of were the fried items, the batter was too thick for my liking and the fish overcooked. Overall this was a pleasant experience.

They officially opened their doors today. Ambiance - cool funky modern vibe with lots of booth seating & bright neon decor. Service - For their first day, I expected some hiccups. There were none. Our server was excellent & attentive - guiding us through the menu, checking in on us regularly and changing out the grill several times. Food - This is by far the best AYCE kbbq in the triangle. Quality meats, great marinades & huge selection. They have a regular menu $32 per person & a premium menu for $20 more. We opted for the regular which had over 45 items to choose from including appetizers like dumplings, ttoekbokki, jjigae etc…They don’t have their liquor license yet. Definitely worth checking out & will definitely add this on our list of places.
